Modules and Related Software

A growing collection of modules and packages are available to provide additional functionality for data analysis scripts in ISIS.

• The S-Lang Modules Page provides links to S-Lang bindings for a number of useful libraries. A number of CXC-developed modules are also available.

A recent ADASS paper gives a few examples in which the PVM module was used to speed up relatively routine but very CPU-intensive data analysis tasks using ISIS.

In many cases an external, stand-alone program written in C, C++ or Fortran can be made much more versatile by turning it into a module with a scriptable interface. Surprisingly, the vectorizing code generator SLIRP makes this process almost completely automatic!
