plot visibility

I've found that the plots I generate with ISIS sometimes don't show up well in
powerpoint presentations. I don't know if this is due to defaults in pgplot,
or if there's some post-processing of the postscript files, or what.

Does anyone have any suggestions for making the postscript plots more readable
without doing everything in pgplot primitives? This could include
postprocessing such as with ps2ps.

In particular, I'd like to make the plot axes thicker; I don't seem to be able
to do that with set_line_width().

Thanks,
Rob
