I grew up in South Korea where I studied until Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering department at Sogang university. As of 2016, I joined Space Nanotechnology Laboratory (SNL) in MIT as a graduate student in MechE.
I am working on advanced diffraction grating for space-based x-ray spectroscopy which I think is a great tool to study fundamental science and engineering. My research interests include x-ray optics, precision metrology, computational imaging, structural/computational mechanics, and nanofabrication.
Design and fabrication of lightweight diffraction gratings with very high diffraction efficiency and resolution is a main goal of my research.
