Chandra Software

Here is a partial list of the software components that I created for the Chandra X-ray Observatory:

  • marx:
An end-to-end simulator for the on-orbit performance of the Chandra X-ray Observatory.
  • mkarf, mkinstmap, mkexpmap, mkgarf, mkgrmf:
A suite of programs for creating ARFs and exposure maps used in the spectral analysis of X-ray data. See my paper for a detailed discussion of these objects and their role in X-ray spectral analysis.
  • ardlib:
This is a software library that allows the computation of effective areas, quantum efficiencies, and so on, in a mission-independent manner.
