This Monday (10/16) starting at 10:00am the NSF will host a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The gathering will begin with an overview of new findings from LIGO, Virgo, and partners that span the globe, followed by details from telescopes that work with the LIGO and Virgo Collaboration to study extreme events in the cosmos.
The National Science Foundation media advisory with details about the press conference is here:
We will show a simulcast of the press conference here at MIT in the Marlar Lounge (Room 37-252). Together with the press conference there will be a Q&A session for local press with the MIT LIGO Lab and astrophysics faculty in the Bush Room – this Q&A will be simulcast in the Marlar Lounge as well.
