Fair enough.  

But when I run your script, it works and there is no crash.

Since you see a crash, I wonder if there is something wrong
with your isis installation.  

To diagnose that, it would be very helpful if you would send me
the files
  config.log
  config.status
from your isis build.

Also, what output does this command generate?:

  > ldd `which isis`
