Hi Mike, Michael Noble wrote: > FYI for the punctuationally-impaired (like me): one can also do > isis> help load_data > to avoid the parens and quotes (and even the semicolon, at a price). Having to explain every now and then the difference between variables and string literals to students who are beginners in programming, and often enough failing in that [I of course refer to my explaining :-)], I tend to avoid constructions which are only interpreted by some isis_massage_input_hook (which just adds those parens and quotes back [see _isis.sl:224]), but do not conform to the general S-Lang syntax. ;-) But you're right, one should also point out that there are these little helpers around each corner, which simplify the daily data analysis with ISIS. I also love the isis> !cmd abbreviation for _isis->_sys_shell_cmd("cmd"); (which is basically system("cmd"); + a message about the status in case `cmd' failed). But one should have an idea about where the magic comes from... Cheers, Manfred, being too German today? ---- You received this message because you are subscribed to the isis-users list.
