I'm using a version of ISIS installed with CIAO here where I work, but I didn't know where ISIS was looking for these files. I think the ISIS_LOAD_PATH must have gotten changed during a version update. Manually setting it to the directory you mentioned fixes the problem. (At least, insofar as require("ds9") now works.)
