installing Isis with precompiled binaries

I had an issue with Ciao and decided to update to v.3.0, which led to
the option to upgrade my RH7.2 linux to 8.0 (has better desktop
utilities), which soon led to a decision to re-install all the software
on my Dell Dim4600 desktop.

Isis (v1.1.5) optionally includes binaries precompiled for various
platforms, so it was a no brainer for me to give this a try. (I know,
real men do not use precompiled binaries).

I installed ftools first, then Ciao, then Isis, and the whole thing was
remarkably quick and easy, and Isis works perfectly. This compares to a
previous install where something went wrong with the pgplot link during
one of the compilations that was tricky to fix.

Thank you to John and the team for providing the binaries

Greg
