adding custom C/FORTRAN codes to ISIS

Dear ISIS Users,

This morning someone nicely suggested to me that I mention SLIRP
here on the ISIS users list.

SLIRP is the (SL)ang (I)nte(R)face (P)ackage, a C code generator aimed
at simplifying the process of creating importable modules for the
S-Lang scripting language. Using SLIRP can dramatically reduce the
time and effort required to make C and FORTRAN code callable directly
from the S-Lang interpreter.

If you've got algorithms coded in C or FORTRAN that you'd like to use
within ISIS (or CIAO, for that matter), but just haven't had the time
or expertise to make it happen, then you may find SLIRP useful. The
SLIRP homepage is at

	http://space.mit.edu/~mnoble/slirp/

and includes documentation and a set of slides for a recent talk
entitled "SLIRP-ing FORTRAN into S-Lang".

Regards,
Michael S. Noble
