Transmission of the HRC UV/Ion Shields

This document contains tables and plots of the transmission of the HRC UV/Ion shields (see Focal Plane Layout and Filter Design). Ken Kobayashi, Gary Meehan, and Ralph Kraft have measured the x-ray transmission of HRC UVIS witness samples at up to 20 discrete energies with a 1 meter McPherson grazing incidence monochromator. Marco Barbera (Istituto e Osservatorio Astronomico G.S. Vaiana, Palermo, Italy) has made x-ray transmission measurements of HRC UVIS witness samples using the synchrotron at Bessy in order to determine x-ray absorption fine structure near absorption edges. Martin Zombeck has measured the near UV and visible light transmission of HRC UVIS witness samples using the Hitachi Model U-4001 recording spectrophotometer in the Material Research Laboratory of Harvard University's Gordon McKay Laboratories.
Grazing Incidence Monochromator Results
The data files (with a .dat extension) are ascii tables with four columns containing the energy (eV), best fit total transmission, transmission of the Al layer, and the transmission of the polyimide layer. The figures plot the data and best fit total transmission, plus give the best fit values of the parameters and the uncertainties (90% confidence level).

UVIS-I witness sample (TF100-1174) transmission measurement in the near UV-Visible band.
