It’s not enough to have ds9 installed, but you need the means to communicate with it via the S-lang interface. You can find the XPA module from here: http://space.mit.edu/cxc/software/slang/modules/xpa/ If do have the module installed, then you need to make sure that the module can be found easily. You might have to put the module path in your .isisrc via the add_to_isis_module_path function.
