Hi,

xspec does indeed seem to have a more liberal understanding (which I
don't know) of a parameter's hard limits.

However, isis' notion of hard limits (as really limiting a parameter's
reasonable range) has always made much more sense to me, such that I
decided to patch xspec's model.dat with the script attached below.

P.S. I hope that you are using isis-1.*6*.2-x.
     Version 1.4.2 would be quite ancient...! ;-)
