Version 1.5.0 of ISIS has been released. This version of ISIS provides built-in support for parallel processing on multi-core computers. ISIS now performs the following tasks in parallel using all available cpus: * Model fits using plm, a parallel implementation of the Levenberg-Marquardt optimization method. * Monte-Carlo parameter search, using fit_search * Sets of single parameter confidence limit searches, with automatic refits upon discovery of a new best-fit, using conf_loop * 2D confidence contour maps, using conf_map_counts or conf_map_flux. For more details, see: http://space.mit.edu/cxc/isis/multicore.html This release also includes a number of new functions based on contributions by Mike Nowak. These new functions (group, group_bin, ignore_values, notice_values) provide more versatile spectral grouping and ignore/notice functionality. The isis-1.5.0 source code is available from: http://space.mit.edu/cxc/isis/download.html Installation instructions are available from http://space.mit.edu/cxc/isis/install.html and are also included with the source code.
