And I've been trolling our internal web pages, and can't actually find
a page devoted to it. It *is* being used in the CIAO release, which
means if one does a source code download of the current beta release
of Sherpa, or waits for the CIAO 4.1 version of Sherpa, the PySl
source will be there. It will be largely undocumented, but it will be
there. Unfortunately, any more formal maintenance as a "package" is
not there, nor is it likely to ever return. The original code
developer has long since left, and is developing iPhone applications
in Python (his "favorite language", or so says his blog...). So, PySl
is now a Chandra/CXC/DS only resource. However, the Sherpa lead,
Stephen Doe, is a reasonable guy, and could probably provide you with
a copy of the latest version of the code, and some amount of help with
any build issues you encounter.
