About NASANEWS

This service, a compilation of recent news releases from NASA's Public Information Offices and related organizations, is brought to you by the Microwave Subnode of NASA's Planetary Data System.

NASA News is also available throughout the Internet via TCP/FINGER by fingering nasanews at space.mit.edu, and AOL users can access it as

keyword "Gopher" > Aerospace and Astronomy > Nasa News

We also maintain an email listserver for planetary microwave information at pds-listserver@space.mit.edu, an anonymous ftp server at delcano.mit.edu, and a WWW home page at http://delcano.mit.edu/. If you have any suggestions for how we might improve our services, please mail them to pds-requests@space.mit.edu

NASA press releases and other information are available automatically by sending an Internet electronic mail message to domo@hq.nasa.gov. In the body of the message (not the subject line) users should type the words subscribe press-release. The system will reply with a confirmation via E-mail of each subscription. A second automatic message will include additional information on the service. Questions should be directed to (202) 358-4043. NASA releases are also available via CompuServe using the command GO NASA.

NASA bulletins are also frequently posted to the sci.space.news Usenet newsgroup, and are also available via anonymous ftp from the NASA.News directory of spacelink.msfc.nasa.gov. NASA also broadcasts NASA TV on the GE 2 satellite, transponder 9C. The frequency is 3880 MHz with an orbital position of 85 degrees West Longitude. Polarity is Vertical. Audio is at 6.8 MHz. This is a full transponder service and will be operational 24 hours a day.
