The Kavli CCD laboratory is a facility for test and evaluation of solid state imaging detectors for use in space based x-ray observatories. The laboratory has supported the Asca, Chandra, HETE and Suzaku missions. Equipment includes a variety of x-ray sources and spectrometers for quantum efficiency and spectral resolution measurements from 100 to 10,000 eV photon energy. A variety of flexible vacuum chambers allows for quick installation and testing of novel CCD APS or other detector designs.
