Session APT3 at the
12th Marcel Grossmann Meeting
on General Relativity

OBSERVATIONS FROM HIGH ENERGY ASTROPHYSICS SATELLITES

-High Energy Astrophysics / Space Missions / X-ray Astronomy

Chairs: E. Pian (Trieste/Italy) & Norbert S. Schulz (MIT/USA)

Paris - July 12 - 18, 2009

Session Dates: July 13 (U9/UNESCO) & 15 (EMS) 2009

APT3 Schedule (updated: July 12, 2009)

Registration and Abstract Submission (NOTE: Abstract Deadline has Passed)

Meeting Summary

Scope: APT3 summarizes recent results from high energy astrophysics observations with the main focus on space based satellites and observatories. The session primarily highlights observations from missions such as CHANDRA, XMM-Newton, Suzaku, Swift, FERMI, and Integral which are related to science involving strong gravity environments as found near neutron stars and black holes but also gravity environments on large scales such as clusters of galaxies. The session also includes science programs proposed for future missions. The Marcel Grossmann Meetings take place every three years and bring together a large number of scientists to discuss recent advances in gravitation, general relativity, field theories, experimental tests including relativistic aspects of high energy astrophysics. This is a great opportunity to present and discuss recent astrophysical reseach results with strong implications to general relativity directly with the relevant community.

The deadline for abstract submission has passed, late registration possible.
For more info see the updated APT3 schedule above and the check the main Marcel Grossmann meeting home page.
