% file: $SCI/E0102/e2d_120112/Notes.txt Keeping track of things in e2d_120112: Cal and Science Analyses of 3 epochs of Obs ===== ToDo: Scale the arf's in dia_useful_plot so they are full scale. ===== Reverse chronology: 5/24+/12 Redo the N9941-110-3 processing using a "Fine" binning and also extended to 2 keV, "Fine2keV".. --> Re-make the N9941-110-3 arfs with osipfile=NONE -- had to edit my make_offset_arf.sl routine that was added to tgcat.sl in order to set this (with np_mkgarf value.) Redo the dia_the_works for "nosip" and Fine2keV... and for --> "nosip" Coarse2keV: call these the final values! 5/--4/12 Final values for PPP, average results over the "early epochs" (120,968,3828). Do fitting of zeroth-order and "s3" (grating=NONE, obs 3545, 6765) data; s3 is close to PPP values (good!). Added pileup to s3 fitting: increases the values by ~4-7 %, and/but does not change relative values much. Save s/w etc in PHA_sw_120504/. 4/18+/12 Average a set of arfs that cover cross-dispersion. Improve the RMF to (somewhat) better approximate E0102 profile. Look at the FRACEXPO in the arfs and re-process 12147 with DS 8.4 products (from 2012-02-04). N9941-110-3 (7 arfs averaged) results are very similar to previous N9941 version. Also make "110-3" versions for contam files N0004(fluffium one) and N9984(new Herman one). 3/20+/12 Generate CALDB and N9941 arf subdirs for the extractions and redo dia_useful_plot for all the data for each case. Previous results in Output_v1/; new ones in: OutputCALDB[N9941]/ XSPEC was updated so * removed the kludge * in isis_cal_model. 1/25+/12 Explicitly added sigma=data in load_ routines: very little change. 1/24/12 Processed all datasets doing conf.s on them; put results on web. ===== Summary of Routines and Files: ===== - - - PHA-based things: pha_compare.sl Read in the pha files and arfs and compare 3 epochs. dia_the_works.sl Call dia_useful_plot for all obs/phas. dia_useful_plot.sl dia="do it all": Setup obsstr and phastr and source this to process an obsid/grating and create a summary...ps and summary...par files. show_rmf.sl Plot the RMF at the O VIII line. dia_4arf_plots.sl Make 4-panel plots of the arfs, using: plot_arfs.sl Output[N9941-11--3]/ Output dir for dia_useful_plot load_plt_pha.sl Load a single epoch-grating-order into isis: fine binning and make a plot. load_cal_pha.sl Load a single epoch-grating-order into isis: Set coarse ("cal") binning, no plot made.
