Subject: new HETG efficiencies
Status: R
Content-Length: 1526
Local folks,
I have created a new set of HETG efficiencies which reflect the
current status of our ground calibration predictions, these
are version N0004 and are in:
/nfs/wiwaxia/d4/ASC/data/caldb/local/axaf/cal/hetg/cip
Do a " ls -lst hetg*gre*N0004.rdb " to find them.
As with the N0003 vesions, seven effic files are available
(shells 1, 3, 4, 6, HEG, MEG, HETG) in four levels of pruning
(no pruning, 0.1%, 0.5%, 2.0% accuracy) and companion
(but boring) error files are also available (grerr instead of greff).
The plots in the files:
/nfs/wiwaxia/d4/ASC/data/caldb/local/axaf/cal/hetg/docs
hetg_op1_N0004N0003.ps
hetg_op2_N0004N0003.ps
hetg_oz_N0004N0003.ps
show the N0004 values compared with the N0003 values for
order = 1, 2, 0 (respectively for the files above)
for the seven effic combinations.
The MEG first order in the range above 0.4 keV has
changed by less than or equal +/- 3% from N0003.
The HEG first order in the range above 0.8 keV has
changed by less than or equal +/- 4% from N0003.
The combined effective zero-order in the range
above 140 eV has changed by less than or equal
to +2% -6% .
The various edges are now on a finer scale and
are based on Kathy Flanagan's optical constants
file:
/nfs/wiwaxia/d4/ASC/data/caldb/local/axaf/cal/hetg/fcp
optical-constants.990510.tbl
Barring any boo-boos this concludes the baseline
ground-determined efficiencies. Expect an N0005
version in weeks/months ahead as Herman uses flight
data to adjust these values and errors!
