Figure 5.  Modelling of the C-K edge region using the data from XTE J1118+48 after shifting the OBF C-K edge and increasing the opacity by 13%.  The residuals are fitted to a simple T0 * exp(-[E/E0]^[-a] ) model in the upper panel, where T0 = 0.26, a = 9, and E0 = 0.28670 keV.  In the lower panel the residuals from this fit are shown, heavily smoothed.
